Registered Nurse Midwives

Applications are invited from qualified persons for the position of: Registered Nurse / Midwife (HPC/RN2).

The Western Regional Health Authority (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health) is currently seeking to employ Registered Nurse Midwives throughout the Region. Reporting to the Ward/Nursing Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the the functions listed below.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Certificate in Midwifery from an accredited institution.
• Current registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica.

Core Functions

• Conducting Antenatal, Child Health, Family Planning and Medical Clinics
• Assisting with postnatal clinics
• Collaborating with and making recommendations to relevant personnel and facilities regarding continuing care for clients
• Conducting home visits as required
• Collecting specimen for lab tests
• Monitoring and requesting supplies needed for client care.
